Working with children
The journey from childhood into adulthood is rarely straightforward. Many children encounter emotional challenges as they grow and develop.
Some children are brought to therapy when parents feel their development has become stuck, slowed, or disrupted. Others may struggle to cope with experiences such as academic pressures, bullying, family changes, or loss.
Children often communicate distress through behaviour rather than words. They may become unusually withdrawn, anxious, angry, or overwhelmed.
Therapy provides a safe and supportive environment where children can express themselves through conversation, creative activity, or play.
Through gentle exploration, therapy can help children to understand their emotions, feel more secure within themselves, and develop healthier ways of coping.
Alongside talking therapy, I have a range of creative materials (eg drawing, painting, puppets, sandtray etc) to draw upon wherever this supports the therapeutic process.
