About Me & The IFS Approach
I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and holding an enhanced DBS certificate.
My practice is informed by my background in the performing arts and years of experience as a school counsellor within the Bath area. This unique blend of clinical training and creative experience allows me to offer a truly integrative service tailored to the specific needs of each client.
Central to my practice is Internal Family Systems (IFS), an evidence-based approach that views the mind as a system of different "parts." We often experience this multiplicity in everyday life, perhaps one part of you feels confident while another feels like a harsh internal critic.
In therapy, we meet these parts with compassion rather than judgment. By understanding the protective roles these parts play, we can resolve internal conflicts and heal the underlying wounds of trauma or childhood adversity.
In addition to my IFS qualification, I hold a Diploma in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling. My work is further enriched by psychodynamic perspectives and Polyvagal-informed understanding of the nervous system.
