ROS HARWOOD THERAPY
Therapy for children, adolescents and adults
I offer a calm, thoughtful, and confidential therapeutic space for children, adolescents, and adults. My work is grounded in a humanistic and integrative approach, recognising each person’s experience as unique and holding a belief in the capacity for growth and change.
People come to therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or the impact of life events such as loss, trauma, or family change. Therapy provides a space to explore these experiences with care, allowing greater understanding, clarity, and new possibilities to emerge.
I specialise in working with children and young people aged 3-18. Emotional distress in childhood and adolescence is often expressed indirectly - through behaviour, withdrawal, or challenges in relationships and at school. Alongside conversation, I may draw on creative, developmentally attuned ways of working to support expression when words feel difficult to find.
I also work with adults, offering a reflective space to explore patterns, deepen self-understanding, and support meaningful change.
My work draws on psychodynamic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment and developmental perspectives, and Polyvagal-informed understanding of the nervous system. With a background in the performing arts and many years working creatively with children and young people, I offer additional ways of working that support expression beyond words.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is central to my approach, offering a compassionate way of understanding the different “parts” within us and supporting greater self-compassion, emotional balance, and resilience.
I also offer parent consultations, providing a reflective space to deepen understanding and support the parent-child relationship.
If you are considering therapy for yourself or your child, you are very welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation.
